The city offers a rich blend of museums, galleries, lively cafés, and urban attractions, reflecting its diverse and evolving character. Known as the home of Nelson Mandela, Johannesburg holds significant historical importance with landmarks that preserve the story of South Africa’s past. The city also offers a wide range of accommodation options, catering to different travel preferences.

The surrounding vineyards and wine regions add to its appeal, offering scenic landscapes and a world-famous wine culture. The city’s strategic location also makes it an ideal base to explore many of South Africa’s most iconic attractions.

Explore the highlights of Cape Town, often referred to as the “Mother City”. Discover its rich history and cultural heritage while passing notable landmarks such as the Parliament Buildings, City Hall, the Slave Lodge, and the historic Castle of Good Hope (optional). Walk around the Grand Parade, an important historical square, and visit the Company Gardens, a peaceful green space in the heart of the city.
Continue through the colourful Bo-Kaap, known for its vibrant houses and cultural significance, and observe traditional diamond craftsmanship at a diamond cutting factory. The journey also takes you past prominent areas including the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town Stadium, Sea Point, Clifton, and Camps Bay.
Visit Table Mountain, one of South Africa’s most iconic landmarks. Ascend by cable car to the summit for panoramic views of Cape Town and the surrounding peninsula (weather permitting). Well-marked paths allow you to explore different viewpoints across the plateau. On clear days, distant views may include Robben Island and Cape Point.
Later, visit Groot Constantia, South Africa’s oldest wine estate, renowned for its historic vineyards and wine heritage.

Explore the scenic highlights of the Cape Peninsula, one of South Africa’s most spectacular coastal regions.
The journey takes you along the Atlantic seaboard, passing through Mouille Point, Three Anchor Bay, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Clifton, and Camps Bay, with photo opportunities along the way, including the picturesque Maiden’s Cove. Continue to Hout Bay, where you may choose to enjoy a boat trip to Seal Island (weather permitting), home to a large colony of seals.
Travel along Chapman’s Peak Drive, renowned as one of the world’s most dramatic coastal roads, offering breathtaking ocean and mountain views. The route then leads into the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point, located at the southwestern tip of Africa, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Access to the viewpoint is available via the Flying Dutchman Funicular (two-way ride).
Continue to Boulders Beach, famous for its protected colony of African penguins, where wooden walkways allow close observation of these charming birds in their natural habitat. Later, visit the seaside town of Muizenberg, known for its colourful beach huts set against a backdrop of mountains and ocean.
Return to Cape Town, with the remainder of the day at leisure.
