Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Guwahati Airport or Railway Station and proceed towards Tezpur, a charming town on the banks of the Brahmaputra River.
On arrival, check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to relax or explore the surroundings at your own pace.
Overnight stay at Tezpur.
Proceed towards Dirang, entering the scenic landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh. En route, visit the renowned Tipi Orchidarium, located on the banks of the Bharali River and home to an impressive collection of orchids, including several rare species native to the region.
Stop to visit the revered Nag Temple before continuing your journey through winding mountain roads, cascading waterfalls, and breathtaking Himalayan vistas. Arrive at Dirang and check in to the hotel.

Explore the serene town of Dirang, known for its cultural richness and natural beauty. Visit traditional Monpa tribal villages to experience local customs, architecture, and lifestyle. Continue to the picturesque Sangti Valley, set along the tranquil Sangti River and known as a seasonal habitat of the rare black-necked crane.
Depending on the season, visit local apple orchards and kiwi farms. Also explore Li-ung Gonpa and Kalachakra Monastery nestled amid scenic surroundings.
Dirang is also famous for its natural hot water springs, believed to have therapeutic properties. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay at Dirang.
Depart for Tawang, often described as the “Land of Hidden Paradise.” En route, cross the spectacular Sela Pass, a high-altitude mountain pass offering panoramic views, and visit the serene Sela Lake, which remains frozen for most of the year. Continue to Jaswantgarh War Memorial, dedicated to the brave Indian soldiers of the 1962 Indo-China war.
Later, visit the magnificent Nuranang Falls, one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Arunachal Pradesh. Arrive in Tawang, check in to the hotel, and enjoy the evening at leisure.

Explore the cultural and spiritual highlights of Tawang. Visit the world-famous Tawang Monastery, a majestic 17th-century monastery also known as Galden Namgyal Lhatse. Perched high above the Tawang Valley, this vast complex comprises numerous buildings housing resident monks and an extraordinary collection of ancient scriptures, sacred images, and manuscripts written in gold lettering. The monastery also features an imposing gilded statue of Lord Buddha and remains the largest monastery in the Himalayan region.
Continue to Urgeling Gompa, the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama and an important pilgrimage site for followers of the Gelugpa sect of Buddhism. The monastery complex includes several stupas and holds special significance during Buddhist New Year celebrations, when devotees seek blessings for the year ahead.
Later, visit the Tawang War Memorial (Namgyal Chorten), dedicated to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Designed in the form of a stupa, the memorial stands as a moving tribute with the names of martyrs inscribed on black granite plaques.
You may also explore the local craft centre, known for traditional masks, hand-woven carpets, silver jewellery adorned with coral and amber, and chubas, the traditional attire of the region. The evening is at leisure. Overnight stay at Tawang.
Set out to explore the dramatic high-altitude landscapes surrounding Tawang. Visit Shonga-tser Lake, popularly known as Madhuri Lake, a serene water body surrounded by pristine mountains near the Indo-China border. Formed after a historic earthquake, the lake is marked by submerged tree trunks rising from its crystal-clear waters, creating a striking visual contrast. The surrounding terrain still bears remnants of wartime bunkers, adding historical significance to the scenic drive.
Continue towards Bumla Pass, a high-altitude mountain pass located at the Indo-China border and one of the most prominent frontier points in Arunachal Pradesh. The journey offers breathtaking views of snow-clad peaks and vast alpine landscapes.
On the return journey, stop at PTSO Lake (Pangong Tang Tso), a picturesque lake offering panoramic views of the Tawang township below. Later, return to the hotel. The rest of the evening is free to relax and soak in the tranquil mountain atmosphere. Overnight stay at Tawang.
Depart from Tawang and travel towards Bomdila, the administrative headquarters of West Kameng district, known for its serene monasteries and cool mountain climate.
On arrival, check in to the hotel. Later, visit the Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gonpa) and Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa), both offering spiritual insight and stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan ranges.

Explore Kaziranga National Park, renowned for its population of the one-horned rhinoceros and diverse wildlife.
