Detailed Itinerary
Arrive at Paro Airport and proceed to Thimphu, the charming capital city of Bhutan nestled in a scenic Himalayan valley. On arrival, check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
You may relax at the hotel or take a gentle walk around Thimphu city to get a first glimpse of Bhutanese life.
Overnight stay at Thimphu.
Explore the highlights of Thimphu city, beginning with a visit to Kuensel Phodrang (Buddha Dordenma), home to one of the largest Buddha statues in the world and offering sweeping views of the Thimphu Valley.
Continue to the National Memorial Chorten, built in memory of Bhutan’s Third King, followed by the Folk Heritage Museum, showcasing traditional Bhutanese lifestyle and culture.
Later, visit Sangaygang View Point for panoramic views of the city and stop at the Takin Preserve Centre, home to Bhutan’s unique national animal.
Visit Changangkha Lhakhang, a revered hilltop temple frequented by families seeking blessings. In the evening, explore Tashichho Dzong, the impressive fortress that houses the seat of Bhutan’s government and monastic body.

Travel to the beautiful Punakha / Wangdue valley, crossing the scenic Dochu La Pass, adorned with 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens and prayer flags, offering spectacular Himalayan views. On arrival, check in at the hotel.
Later, visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, dramatically located at the confluence of two rivers and once the seat of Bhutan’s government.
Continue with a short walk to Chhimi Lhakhang, famously known as the Temple of Fertility, founded by the revered Lama Drukpa Kunley.

Option 1: Gangtey / Phobjikha Valley
Proceed to the stunning Gangtey Valley, known for its wide glacial landscapes and serene beauty. Visit Gangtey Goemba, an important Nyingmapa monastery, and explore the picturesque Phobjikha Valley, the winter home of the endangered Black-Necked Cranes.
Enjoy time walking through the valley and soaking in the peaceful surroundings before returning to Punakha.
Option 2: Punakha Valley
Spend the day exploring Punakha with a gentle hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, offering breathtaking views of the valley.
Visit the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of the longest in Bhutan, and continue to Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery, perched high above the valley with serene panoramic vistas.

Proceed to Paro, one of Bhutan’s most historic valleys. En route, visit Lamperi Royal Botanical Park, rich in flora, fauna, and birdlife. On arrival in Paro, check in at the hotel.
Later, explore Ta Dzong (National Museum), housing an impressive collection of Bhutanese art, relics, and thangkas. Continue to Rinpung Dzong, a striking fortress that serves as the administrative and judicial centre of Paro.

Visit the iconic Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most revered landmark, dramatically perched on a cliffside. A scenic hike leads to this sacred site, believed to be Guru Rinpoche’s meditation place. The experience is both spiritual and awe-inspiring.
Later, visit the ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, built to commemorate Bhutanese victories, offering views of Mount Jhomolhari on clear days. Continue to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred temples in Bhutan.

Explore Chele La Pass, the highest motorable pass in Bhutan, adorned with colourful prayer flags and offering magnificent views of Mount Jhomolhari and Jichu Drake.
On the return journey, visit Kila Goemba, a tranquil nunnery set along a rocky cliff. Later, spend time exploring Paro town and shopping for souvenirs.
